Intentions is youth-centered and grounded in 10 principles. We partner with Brooklyn Center School District, The City of Brooklyn Center and community organizations to bring intentional programming to youth and their families.
Education
We provide the community with educational classes and experiences that will give them a foundation in each of these 10 principles.
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy promotes good decision making for one’s finances. We offer age-appropriate lessons and classes that give the community a basic understanding of financial literacy.
Self-Awareness/Care
Our aim is to provide programming that will assist with personal development. Our hope is to help the community focus on self- awareness while finding their personal strengths.
Service Learning
Through service learning we aim to provide partnership oppurtunites between schools, institutions and the community. We believe this engagement can help to promote a unified community.
Health and Fitness
We believe taking care of one’s mental health and physical health can lead to positive life choices. Our goal is to help the community understand the importance and benefits of good physical and mental health.
Character Development
We believe good character is essential to building trust with those around you. We aim to deliver programs that promote and mirror good character qualities in life.
Sparks Exploration
Through sparks exploration youth are given the opportunity to learn more about their own potential, skills, and interests. We offer hands on learning opportunities to help young people discovery and engage in what makes them spark.
Restorative Practices
Our Empower HER group mentoring program is grounded in restorative practices, Self Luv’s girl empowerment curriculum and sisterhood. Through our partnership with SHE IS ME Sisterhood we aim to connect girls to each other, themselves, their community and their dreams.
Career Development and Exploration
Our goal is to provide the community and youth with classes and resources surrounding career development. We believe access to employment readiness skills will create a positive foundation for career development.
Family Support
When families thrive both young people and the community thrive. We support families through our Intentional parenting support classes and youth groups.
